all of the mugs

i went and visited mugs up! i spoke with ann the owner and also had the customers get involved! i went to each station and had them draw their own root beer mug. mixed in are also the employee’s drawings, as well as my classmates.

while i was there we discovered this young lady was an original carhop at mugs up at the very beginning back in 1956. here she is with ann the owner. all those memories are what keep the customers coming back.

inspiration galore. i want to take aspects of fifties design so the branding resonates with the tradition and longstanding of the restaurant, but also mix it with contemporary illustrations and color schemes/patterning to bring into the eye of younger generations.
